I think it’s been two weeks since my last update, but, goodness, there has been a reason.

I genuinely think I am cursed. Since starting the social media for this pen name, terrible thing after terrible thing has happened.

Illnesses and injuries have significantly delayed me in absolutely everything. I spent most of last week with very little vision, I can currently barely use my right hand, and my back issue, though less severe, is now impacting my sciatic nerve.

Last week, I got nothing done for this pen name, but it wasn’t for lack of trying. Oh, hold on. No, sorry, I forgot that I redid my website graphics and fonts to match my aesthetic rebrand. I suppose that’s something. I got nothing book related or social media done last week, though.

Monday was also screwed up. I’ve had a severe breathing issue for a few years, and it kept me up until 1 am on Sunday, continued as soon as I got up at 5 am, and then developed into another health issue I have at 3 pm, so that was fun.

Tuesday, something stole an hour of my time, but I have managed to make progress. I finished writing a chapter. I also created a detailed outline for two chapters that just had one single vague outline done. I reviewed and tweaked a chapter. I did plan to write an additional three chapters in Bayview Boys book two. That will unfortunately have to be done tomorrow, as somebody that I am a carer for has a virtual appointment I have to be present for as a medical advocate. They gave a very vague time of “Between 11 am and 12 pm” to expect a call.

this means I have to be ready for interruption at any time, and, due to special circumstances, it takes me several minutes to be able to let somebody into my office, so I can’t have the additional step of turning off dictation before I prepare to let somebody in. I’ll be working on character art for as long as possible today instead, and I’ve been brainstorming pose and background ideas for the second book in the series.

I don’t know what I did on Wednesday or Thursday. I’m writing this on Tuesday.However, I anticipate, if there are no interruptions, having at least another 6 to 10 chapters of book two completed.

They’re from very different worlds, but they have similar minds and desires, so they work anyway.

Also. What Daniel does during the international championship? Screaming, crying, throwing up. (That’s my reaction, not what he does.)

I may be cursed. Twice in two months I have developed severe muscle spasms that make it impossible to do, well, anything.

Today is day three of recovery which usually takes about a week, and it is the first day I can sit for more than 30 minutes without excruciating pain. I will have to stand and pace for the next several hours to make up for this part of sitting.

The cover was done, but this weekend, I decided, you know what? I can make this prettier. It was already pretty, but I am not satisfied with something that is just nice and pretty. I want something prettier than pretty, and I wanted it to be more representative of the book rather than the series of a whole. I decided to start a whole new background and got the sketch done before the injury happened.

Based on the last time this horrendous curse took hold, I should be fine by this weekend, so I’ll be able to finish the new background (and the new charm bracelet I’m adding) then. Alas, for now, I must postpone revealing the cover.

Instagram is actively suppressing my account i’m sure only two or three of the enormous 11 followers I have gathered in three months will see this, but whatever.

And it is suppressing my account. I can search my name and hashtags and find my account will using another account, and I’m using the same hashtags as many accounts that get visibility, while posting content relevant to the book and the things People expect to see all this posting in this niche. And yet I have only ever gotten 4 to 6 views per post with the highest two posts managing to be seen by 13 accounts.

I think Instagram believes I’m not active enough, so I guess I’m gonna have to start commenting more rather than just liking when scrolling.
